249 Barrel Response Barges(Barges operate in sets of 2)
FunctionThe 249 Oil Spill Response Barges have been designed to handle to need to respond to a possible spill of fuel oil. In order for an effect response to be mounted against the product spilled, necessary equipment must be brought to the spill site as quickly as possible. With the design of the barges, SEAPRO is capable of arriving to the scene of a spill with 2000 of 20 boom, a storage capacity of 496 barrel, and the capability of recovering fuel with a LORI brush skimming system. Additionally, each response barge is capable of carrying a 21' Alumaweld Workboat. The barges are designed to work as a set to compliment and support each other rather than just a singular platform.
The barges are capable of skimming in protected waters with seas of 3' or less and can transit in conditions of up to 6' seas. The response barges can perform skimming and recovery operations offshore, near shore, and as well as support shoreline clean up operations.
