SEAPRO has divided Southeast Alaska into 9 geographic zones. In each zone, we have pre-positioned oil spill response equipment and response teams. The teams provide immediate response to an oil spill from a member company. SEAPRO provides initial 24 Hour Hazwoper Training and 16 Hours of additional Response Team Training to all Team Members. SEAPRO also ensures that all Response Team Members receive an annual 8 Hour Hazwoper Refresher. All SEAPRO Training complies with 29 CFR 1910.120. A SEAPRO Response Team is made up of 5 people -- 1 Team Leader and 4 Responders. The size of the team allows the Team Leader and other Supervisors to maintain a manageable span of control during emergency responses. |
